Spiritual Formation

At the Open Door, Spiritual Formation is seen as a rhythm of living—a way to embody ministry through love, trust, and a sense of belovedness as children of God. Inspired by Henri Nouwen's book "A Spirituality of Living", our philosophy encourages us to embrace our identity in Christ, extending forgiveness, celebration, and compassion to others. The "Spiritual Formation Wheel", which follows the liturgical and seasonal calendar, guides us in developing a Rule of Life that nurtures our relationship with God (inner), others (communal), and the world (outward).

The Open Door aims to provide creative, authentic, and vulnerable opportunities for connection beyond Sunday worship, fostering a journey towards spiritual transformation, aligning with our five practices: listening, learning, eating, encouraging, and giving.
