MONTHLY MOVIE CLUB

NEXT MOVIE: IF on 05.311.24. Time & place TBD

Movie Group: Please join us for the next monthly gathering of our new Movie Group, this time with kids in mind! This group aims to see a movie each month with time together after the viewing to discuss. On Friday, May 31 (today!), we'll plan to see the movie IF (trailer can be found here). We didn't know the specifics of when/where when announcements for the week were finalized on Tuesday, but we plan to aim for a showing between 5 & 7 pm at one of the theaters near the East End (e.g., Waterworks, Row House, Waterfront, Manor, etc.).

Just so you know, we haven't seen the movie yet, so please don't take this invitation as an Open Door endorsement of the film, which is rated PG. The IMDB parental guide can be found here. We'll leave it up to parents to determine whether the movie is appropriate to bring your children to.

RULE OF LIFE MORNING RETREAT

Rule of Life Morning Retreat  05.25.24 9:30 am – noon

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit. -John 15:5

The goal of the Christian life is to remain in the vine to produce fruit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, etc.  But how do we remain or “abide” in the vine, with so much clamoring for our attention?  The ancient Christian practice of creating a personal “Rule of Life” can be a powerful step.  Just like a trellis helps a growing plant climb towards the sun, these rhythms of spiritual practices create structure and space in our days to draw us closer to Jesus to become our full, true selves in God.

Join us Saturday morning, May 25 to learn, be still, and creatively craft your own rule of life. We hope you can join us!

Led by Nick & Lauren Burdette.  Please RSVP by 5/20 at nburdette at gmail.com
